Free credit score firm has captured my cash

A secretive marketing firm is accused of locking thousands of people into expensive 'credit score' subscriptions without their knowledge. It is believed to be just one of dozens of firms, some legitimate, seeking to take advantage of consumers' growing anxiety about the credit information that is held about them and how it is used.

Adaptive Affinity of Edgware, north London, has previously been investigated and censured by the Office of Fair Trading for mis-selling reward scheme membership.

Now it is being accused of almost identical practices in relation to its credit score services, which it 'sells' through about ten similar-sounding brands. These include Credit Rating Matters, High Credit Score, Quick Credit Score and Credit Score Matters.
